About This Project

The Relay Indoor Project addressed the urgent health and livelihood needs of urban refugees from Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo living in Wakiso District. These refugee communities face unique vulnerabilities including limited access to healthcare, food insecurity, and restricted economic opportunities.

CERAD empowered 1,935 urban refugees with essential diagnostic and preventive health services while establishing urban community gardens to enhance food security and combat malnutrition, particularly among children under five. The project prioritized women and children, addressing health disparities intensified by climate-induced risks and displacement challenges.
