Who We are

CERAD is an indigenous non-governmental organisation that was established in 2018 as a charity movement to support women, young persons and children in areas of sexual reproductive maternal adolescent Newborn child health and economic empowerment.

The organisation was birthed behind “maternal near miss” lived experiences by the founder and other rural women. The organisation is fully registered to operate within the laws of the state and for the benefit for the community.

We are a grass rooted NGO that uses community-based practices, local solutions to support the vulnerable individuals without leaving No one behind. CERAD is handy in contributing to a reduction in maternal and child mortality and enabling individuals live dignified lives with strengthening their ability to full potential.

Our Values

Integrity:  The organization shall ensure transparency and honesty in its day-to-day transactions and also accept responsibility for collective and individual actions. Accountability: The organization shall rely on beneficiaries to conduct organization business through a commitment to ethical principles and transparency. The organization shall at all
times be answerable to its beneficiaries, the funding bodies ultimately the state. 

Open communication: Both beneficiaries and organization staff shall be informed of strategic direction, and empowered with information about the policies and goals of the organization. Innovation: The organization’s desire is to develop new and attractive strategies in improving livelihoods, promoting resilience against shocks.

Our Team

CERAD Uganda is driven by a dedicated team, spearheaded by its founder, Judith Kansiime, who established the organization based on her personal experiences with maternal near misses. The board comprises professionals like Dr. Amegovu Timothy and Dr. Darlson Kwikizira, who provide valuable health insights, and Dr. Brian Emmanuel and Dr. Ariho Pauline, who contribute research expertise. This team propels CERAD’s mission to mitigate maternal and child mortality in Uganda and uplift vulnerable individuals.
