CERAD, in financial support with Pfizer, is actively implementing a comprehensive community-based project aimed at increasing demand and access to Malaria, TB and HIV prevention, treatment and care services. The project also focuses improvement on documentation and referral linkages of the positive cases for treatment options. We work with key populations (fisher folks)in hard-to-reach areas, specifically the islands of lake Victoria (Zzinga,Bbusi)and in the town of Wakiso district.
Through our collaboration, we have trained 20 health workers and 26 community health workers on HIV prevention measures, worked with 24 commercial sex workers hubs to provide HIV testing services, Prep, STI management, family planning options, psychosocial support and lastly averted death and disability among the beneficiaries. To see our work in action and learn more about the impact of this project.
