SAVE EVERY MOTHER AND EVERY CHILD (SEMEC)
GOAL: To increase demand and utilization of Maternal and child health services.
PURPOSE: Build capacity of pregnant women to have birth preparedness plans.
Annually, it’s estimated that over 6,000 women and girls succumb to complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. Astonishingly, the majority of these causes are preventable. Our fragile health infrastructure fails to provide mothers and children with sufficient access to crucial, life-saving healthcare. A project like SEMEC focuses on bridging the gaps related to access to skilled birth care and delays contributing to maternal and child mortality. Over time, our community-oriented maternal and child interventions have made significant strides and prevented numerous deaths.
